Professional Biography
Cindy Lane began her career working to improve the built environment at multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firms. She has since worked to advance a range of sustainable land use issues — from increasing access to healthy food, open space, and public transit — to advocating for state and federal policies that protect water quality, expand clean energy infrastructure, and address climate change. Most recently, she served as the Water Program Director for the Iowa Environmental Council and previously served as their Climate and Energy Policy Specialist. She received a B.L.A. (Landscape Architecture) from Iowa State University, an M.A. (Urban and Regional Planning) from the University of Iowa, and a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law.
