Professional Biography
Amanda Savage is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the University of Denver Sturm College of Law’s Criminal Defense Clinic, where she supervises law students in their representation of clients charged with crimes. Prior to coming to DU, Savage was an Assistant Public Defender with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender in Baltimore City, where she represented people charged with serious felonies including first degree murder. Before that, Savage was an Assistant Deputy Public Defender with the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender in Essex County (Newark), where she represented people charged with all levels of felonies from minor drug possession to murder. Savage has experience handling criminal cases at the trial level at every point from start to finish, and is well versed in challenging and litigating issues of forensic science. Savage has also trained public defenders on trial skills and other practice areas.
